London, UK – The Royal Albert Hall was transformed into a star-studded arena as King Charles III and Queen Camilla celebrated the 50th anniversary of the King’s Trust. The monarch was joined by a galaxy of A-list celebrities and world-renowned musicians to mark five decades of empowering the youth.
A Night of Glamour and Purpose
Leading the celebrity guest list were George Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney. They were joined by actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Sir Idris Elba, alongside music legends like Sir Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, and Rita Ora.
The King’s Trust, founded by Charles in 1976 during his time as the Prince of Wales, has been a beacon of hope for young people facing unemployment. Over the last 50 years, the organization is estimated to have supported over 1.3 million individuals aged 11 to 30.
Celebrating Real-Life Heroes
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards to young achievers:
Musa: An asylum seeker from Sudan who arrived in Glasgow and, through the trust’s "Explore" programme, found a career in landscaping.
Naina: A young girl from rural India who rejoined school with the support of the trust and now empowers other girls in her community. She received the Amal Clooney Woman’s Empowerment Award.
Brandon: From Lancashire, Brandon overcame severe mental health struggles and long-term unemployment to secure a professional career through the trust’s Business Administration programme.
A Royal Touch of Humor
The event was hosted by the famous duo Ant and Dec. In a light-hearted moment at the end of the show, King Charles joked about "putting Ant and Dec back in their box" as he thanked everyone for their dedication, expressing his wish for the trust to continue its vital work for as long as possible.
