The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 has taken a dramatic turn as Australian pop star Delta Goodrem delivered a powerhouse performance of her ballad, Eclipse, during Thursday's semi-final. Her stunning vocals have catapulted Australia to the position of second favorite to win, rapidly closing the gap with the long-time frontrunner, Finland.
Goodrem, a household name in Australia and known to UK fans from the soap Neighbours, described the experience as "surprisingly beautiful." If she wins on Saturday, it will be the first-ever victory for Australia since they joined as a wild card in 2015.

Meanwhile, the UK’s entrant, "Look Mum No Computer," made his debut with a surreal office-themed performance. While social media reactions were mixed—some praising his energy and others criticizing the "exam hall" staging—the UK automatically progresses to the Saturday final as part of the "Big Four."
Other highlights included Romania's Alexandra Căpitănescu, who defended her controversial track Choke Me as a metaphor for societal pressure, and Norway's Jonas Lovv, who brought high-energy rock despite being told by organizers to tone down his "cheeky" choreography.
